Fr Lambros has submitted his resignation for retirement purposes in Spring 2025 and continued to perform all church services until the arrival of the new priest
Fr Lambros had a knee surgery on Jul 18 and was not available for any church services after that date.
Fortunately Fr Antonios Athanasiadis was available and performed all Divine Liturgies in Aug, Sept, Oct and will continue till the end of November. Fr Panagiotis Pavlakos is performing all Sacraments.
The new priest who is expected to come from Cyprus, along with wife and 3 kids, has not cleared all Canadian Immigration Documentation. Our Community had hired an Immigration Consultant to help with all Immigration Applications. The case has taken a lot longer than expected due to some mishaps with the new priest Biometrics submissions. While we hope that his Biometrics will be completed soon by the Canadian Immigration, we cannot confirm that he will come before Christmas.
Fr Lambros after his medical leave of absence, had his vacation in Greece and will be back at end of November 2025. Understanding the issue Fr Lambros offered his services again until the new priest arrives.
We appreciate the services of Fr Antonios, Fr. Panagiotis and Fr. Lambros. Their commitment to the church, helped us keep the church open and perform all sacraments that had been or been scheduled.
Update: Jan 20, 2026. The Canadian Immigration is still processing the new priest’s work permit acceptance.
